Alleviated Manufacture Operation Challenges through an Automated Staffing Application.
The customer has over 200,000 employees and one of the largest manufacturing footprints in the world. Based on the user requirements, LHP’s team designed and developed a web application user interface that connected to the data of the client’s badged employees in real-time.
It was of the utmost importance for the client to be able to manage the proper and most efficient utilization of their trained operators in all their manufacturing facilities.
An American multinational automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in the U.S. was facing a significant challenge.
In all nine of their manufacturing plants in North America, they had to staff their extensive manufacturing operations with qualified operators.
However, when trying to schedule operators for work, it was a challenge trying to find enough operators who were fully qualified for the roles they needed fulfilled.
LHP delivered two applications that work closely together. Both applications—Versatility Matrix and Optimal Staffing—have increased the efficiency of the client’s staff assignment process, including reducing the chances of inappropriate assignments on the assembly line. Further, with the significant reduction in the use of paperbased documents, this has greatly reduced the client’s paperwork burden while simultaneously having a positive environmental impact.
